A man in his 40s was arrested yesterday after trying to get through Dublin Airport while allegedly concealing drugs.
It is understood that he landed in the capital off a flight from Frankfurt in Germany. He was stopped by Revenue officers who searched his luggage and found 14 kgs of herbal cannabis hidden in his luggage.
The drugs are worth with an estimated value of €280,000. The arrested man is now being detained at a Dublin Garda station.

A Revenue spokesman said: "Yesterday as part of an intelligence-led operation, Revenue officers seized approximately 14 kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €280,000 at Dublin Airport.
"The illicit drugs were discovered when Revenue officers stopped and searched the baggage of a passenger who had disembarked a flight from Frankfurt, Germany.
"A man in his 40s was arrested and taken to a Dublin Garda Station where he is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
