Vietnam Airlines Earns “Bolded Move” Award at SkyTeam Sustainable Flight Challenge

The award was presented to Vietnam Airlines on October 3, 2023, in Atlanta, Georgia. Vietnam Airlines was also named a top 3 airline in the Cleaning Waste Management Solution subcategory. The airline demonstrated its commitment to providing surplus inflight food and providing surplus food to underserved communities in Vietnam. In the competition, Vietnam Airlines partnered with Limloop to recycle hundreds of unusable life vests into handbags for passengers on the flight, using seasonal ingredients and plant-based protein source from sustainably grown soybeans, and a partnership with the US Soybean Export Council (USSEC). The airline's Executive Vice President, Dang Anh Tuan, stated that the award illustrates Vietnam Airlines' commitment to reducing food waste, hunger and poverty in Vietnam and creating a sustainable food culture and eco-system in the country.
